Details[]
The Crossfire is a slide-action blaster, similar to the Scout IX-3. Like the Hyperfire and Magstrike, the trigger is a two-fingered trigger with small holes indented on it. Dart storage located under the blaster can hold an additional five darts. There is a sling point located at the bottom back corner of the grip.
It features a small inverse tactical rail on top of it, allowing it to be attached to other blasters with a tactical rail.
History[]
The Crossfire was first seen in December 2005 on KB Toys' website.[1] A listing from December 2005 also appeared on Hasbro's website detailing the blaster and its features.
It was re-released in 2008 in the Strikefire 2-Player Duel System, where it received its alternate name. A Star Wars variant appeared at the 2008 New York Toy Fair, however no proof of its release has ever been seen.
Color schemes[]
The Crossfire has been released with the following color schemes:
- Blue, silver, black, green, and orange
- Green, silver, black, and orange
- Orange, silver, black, and green
- Red, silver, black, green, and orange
Modification[]
The Crossfire is a fairly easy blaster to modify. Barrel replacements are highly common and relatively easy to do,[2][3][4] as are air restrictor mods. Coupler modifications are also common, and can result in an easy boost in range.[5]
Another easy and common mod is minimization, most notably the ammunition storage in the front.[6] More complicated mods can be completed as well, such as blaster integrations.[7]
Value packs[]
The Crossfire was sold briefly in 2006 at Walmart with a free Firestrike in matching colors to the blaster sold in the package, either red or blue.[8]
The Strikefire 2-Player Duel System was also offered in an Nerf Dart Tag League value pack with NDTL vests and bags.
Trivia[]
- The Crossfire works very well as an attachment to larger blasters, since it allows an extra dart to be fired if one is not deemed enough.
